How many flash players do i need

If you're not running the most recent version, you might see an error message instead of your content. However, we don't recommend updating the plug-in directly from a warning message like this. Some misleading advertisements are cleverly disguised as warning messages, but they won't actually take you to an update page.

That's why it's best to download the update directly from the Adobe website. It's also worth pointing out that some browsers update all of your plug-ins automatically, including Flash Player.

If you're using a browser like Internet Explorer, you'll probably need to update your plug-ins manually. Hi friends I was asking myself the same question, if i needed both Flash Players It seems logical to assume that after installing the newer version then why keep the old one? I have uninstalled the old version 11 and have the new version 13 plug-in so all is good now Please keep in mind the update for the security issue Adobe had with this last version as well.

Adobe Security Bulliten. Search Support Search. Learn More. Chosen solution cor-el: The earlier version seemed to vanish by itself, about 12 hours later. News Question owner. If you see multiple flash installs in the Addon Manager, you should reload the database before you see problems Ex: Your Yahoo Mail problem 1.

Did you remove the other Flash plugin? You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page. Chosen Solution cor-el: The earlier version seemed to vanish by itself, about 12 hours later. Thanks and i did verify the security issue and i'm good to go This is so un-cool. To discontinue a product with nothing user friendly to replace it is negligent to say the least.

I can still play games on my cell phone, what are they doing differently from the laptop? I tried to pay a parking ticket and the parking web site will not work because Adobe Flash expired. This truly is a public relation nightmare for Adobe. I was in IT and I have read case studies on some software calamities over the years but this one takes the cake. I will be interested to read the case study in years to come. Apparently, the all used Flashplayer and suddenly quit working a few days ago.

It is un-cool and pretty pompous. If you ask me, they simply created a market for someone graduating from MIT or otherwise to be the next Larry or Sergei. And Adobe will be out of luck and ultimately out of business. On purpose. Really, really stupid. I cannot livestream fb messenger video call as it needs flash media to broadcast. None of the audio reply questions. He has a tech ticket for student services who are supposed to have a work around. The main thingb i think alot of the responders are missing is, Adobe has been telling your websites that you play games etc.

Honestly Adobe did its due diligence. There are updates made to the background on websites constantly, and a games or feature bei9ng switched over to a new system should be almost invisible to a user of a website. So that even the person who knows nothing except the power button even on a computer would still be able to do what they did before. So if you have a site or something that dont work, there is usually a link at the bottom of a page that says contact developer, web master, or something.

My opinion take it as that. It is the responsibility of publishers to author the games in prevalent, relevant standards, up-to-date standards, rather than relying on technology that arguably should have been killed off a decade ago.

They are the people behind the software that graphic designers, video editors, game designers, web designers, lithographic print houses, in fact the vast majority of the creative industry rely on. No one called Larry or Sergei is about to dethrone them. Not at all. Flash was appalling. Good riddance. I am a teacher and currently trying to live teach from home.

I installed plugin freemind browser in WordPress site. When run, it is asking to install flash. What to do…..? Performance is spotty and does not compare to the smoothness of gaming using Flash. You can always make something secure. Switching over to HTML5 is born from laziness. Flash is way better for gaming in every respect. A shame that it is not supported. Kixeye having so many issues with HTML5 it is ridiculous how many glitches there are and will be. It is not stable in the least. I have an old Mac desktop running OS X snow leopard.

It will not support any updates to the software. Now that flash is gone, I cannot use my exercise website. What can I do? I cannot use safari as this older version will not support it. Adobe has not provided any new information or alternative software at this time. And by what credentials do you make that statement? Even a sophomoric understanding of the relevance of vector graphics and why it is important? It appears not. No Adobe shut it down because the big players saw vector graphics as a threat to their ever expanding empire of growth for bitmaps images because they can charge you for the increasingly egregious amount of bandwidth that it takes to display them.

Kind of like the oil companies, steel companies and automotive companies had which will also die when electric cars become the norm. A purely aesthetic platform. As programmers inveigled their way into it i. Vector Graphics will return — and it will not be WebGL — another programming horror show. First they killed Videotex naplps then they killed Flash.

I am in the same boat as the teacher above. I have downloaded powerpoint presentations as well as made my own that have embedded videos and now none of them wil open- I get the message to download the newest Flash, which I had dutifully uninstalled, not understanding that it would destroy my ability to present to my students. Is there a way to open these using some other method? I could not care less about gaming- I just need to teach my CPR classes. Being retired I was never told that these would not work anymore.

I assume that if my powerpoints were not created with one of the alternatives like HTML5 that I can not use those to open them? Do you know how many games I have purchased that I have not even played yet that needs the flash player , what about all that money thrown in the water now this is very unprofessional discontinuing a app and not replacing with a substitute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Linda, We agree! They should have tried to find an alternative before they discontinued so users could still use software that required Flash Player. We believe the main reason why they discontinued is due to security vulnerabilities. Can Microsoft or some other tech. I have not uninstalled Flash player yet.
